LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville residents have the chance to ask questions to Transit Authority of River City staff this week.

TARC has been working for weeks on 2025 redesign proposals, and the feedback phase closes April 30. Three public meetings will be held this week to learn more about what riders think.

Those meetings are scheduled for the following dates and times:

  • Tuesday, April 22, 4 – 6:30 p.m. at Union Station, 1000 West Broadway
  • Wednesday, April 23, 4 – 6:30 p.m. at United Crescent Hill Ministries, 150 State St
  • Thursday, April 24, 4 – 6:30 p.m. at Shively City Hall, 3920 Dixie Highway

Residents can stop by the open houses at any point during the scheduled times to talk with TARC staffers, according to a news release. There's also a survey available, to fill out by clicking here

TARC 2025 was launched in 2024 to ensure long-term sustainability for Louisville transit, according to a news release. TARC is striving to restore its pre-2020 service levels, but with federal funding no longer available, leadership has spent months gathering rider feedback to shape the future of public transportation in the region.

At the beginning of 2024, TARC projected a $30 million deficit by the fiscal year 2027 if action wasn't taken before then.
