LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A special event Sunday helped give abused and neglected animals a second chance.
The Arrow Fund hosted its first Barkin on the River at Captain's Quarters in Prospect.
The fundraiser supports efforts to rescue abused, neglected and special-needs animals.
The event included raffles and prizes from several local businesses and vendors. Money raised will help cover medical expenses.
"We have close to 40 fosters at any given time," said Brian O'Reilly, with The Arrow Fund. "That will take care of the animals and nurse them back to health with veterinarian care. Once they heathy enough to get adopted, we adopt them out."
The Arrow Fund was founded in 2013 and has rescued 200 animals so far this year.
