University of Kentucky dance team mourns death of team member

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The University of Kentucky dance team is mourning the loss of one of its members.

According to UK Athletics, sophomore Kate Kaufling died Sunday, March 31 of osteosarcoma, a form of bone cancer. She was 20 years old.

Kaufling joined the dance team with her twin sister Abbey last fall. Kaufling was a student in the College of Nursing.

The university said funeral arrangements are still pending.
