LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville ranks 14th in dog attacks on postal service employees across the U.S.
The U.S. Postal Service released its dog bite national rankings in May. It said incidents involving dog attacks on postal workers grew to more than 5,800 cases last year.Â
In Louisville, there were 28 attacks last year.
USPS said dog owners should secure their dog before a carrier approaches their home, keep dogs inside or behind a fence, in another room or on a leash.
The postal service also recommends using its free informed delivery service so you can keep an eye on when your mail will arrive.
