LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Vietnam veterans were celebrated Saturday to honor those who fought for our country.
The ceremony took place at Veterans Memorial Park in Jeffersontown.
The Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 454 partnered with the Louisville Vet Center to host the event.
Former Miss America and Veteran advocate Heather French Henry sang the national anthem. There was the pledge of Allegiance and the pinning of the Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pin.
Veterans from all eras attended to share stories and support each other.
"I really am thankful for the Iraqi veterans and the Afghanistan veterans," retired USMC Sgt. Larry Clark said. "People opened their eyes to what they did so I am thankful for those guys."
This was the last year of the Vietnam War 50th Commemoration Program.
