Woman accused of string of robberies of elderly women

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville woman is accused of robbing several elderly victims and injuring them in the process.

A police report says 27-year-old Demesha Hicks attacked an 82-year-old woman on the victim's back porch on Monday morning. Police say Hicks pulled on the woman's purse, causing her to fall off the porch and break her shoulder.

The report says on Monday afternoon, Hicks pulled on another 82-year-old woman's purse, dragged her across her driveway, and injured her hip, finger, arm, and leg. It says Hicks then punched and kicked the victim.

On Tuesday, according to the report, Hicks pulled on a 79-year-old woman's purse, causing the woman to fall and hit her head. Also on Tuesday, the report says a 77-year-old woman was coming home from shopping and Hicks "used force and took her wallet."

Hicks faces four counts of robbery. The police report says he gave a statement admitting to the crimes.
