LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A woman is dead after she was hit by a vehicle in the Phoenix Hill neighborhood early Thursday morning.
It happened just before 8 a.m. in the 1100 block of East Broadway, according to a news release from Louisville Metro Police. That's where LMPD officers from the 7th Division found the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.
Police said investigators determined the woman was hit by a vehicle traveling eastbound on Broadway, and was not in a designated crosswalk when she was struck.
The driver stopped after the collision and cooperated with officers on scene. No other vehicles were involved in the collision.
LMPD’s Traffic Unit is handling the investigation.
