LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- One person is dead after being hit by a train in Louisville's Clifton neighborhood, according to police.Â
A MetroSafe supervisor said a call came in just after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday about a train collision at Stoll Avenue near Arlington Avenue, which is off Frankfort Avenue near the Kentucky School for the Blind.Â
A Louisville Metro Police spokesman said in a release that when officers arrived, they found a woman had been hit by the train on the CSX tracks. She died at the scene.Â
LMPD said the train conductor told investigators they sounded the horn to get the attention of the person walking on the tracks, but the train wasn't able to stop before hitting them.Â
LMPD homicide is investigating, which is standard procedure for most death investigations.Â
