The government is finally set to reopen and resume the basic services we paid for and were denied for over 40 days. The real crisis is not merely the self-serving politicians in Washington. The problem is us. We are the ones electing them.

We fail to demand excellence and instead settle for the least-worst candidate, blindly following the "D" or the "R" attached to their name. We get the governance we tolerate.

Here's what our viewers had to say:

"We should elect people that are for the people of the United States. Also, if they have a government shutdown, let people we voted for not get paid."

"Bill, you're absolutely right. We all need to change the government. They're not for us. They're not for the people. They're just for themselves."

"What should really happen during this shutdown: Every elected official should not been paid."

"Yes, Bill lamb, you're 100% right. For one time, I agree with you. We don't demand from them. We don't get no respect. They don't even care about us anymore. So we're the ones to blame."

"These people that are in our office of government now should not have been there, should never have been voted in. I hope we make better choices here in the future. I know I will.

"Bill Lamb is absolutely right. People need to step up."
