It is such a shame that unsupervised kids fighting and misbehaving and pepper-spraying people forced the Kentucky Derby Festival to shut down Fest-a-Ville an hour earlier than planned last week.

For years, we've run a message at the beginning of our news that says "It's 10 o'clock. Do you know where your children are? You should!"

That isn't for other parents. That's for you. If you have teenagers running around outside and you don't know where they are, that message is for you!

Here's what our viewers had to say:

"Bill, you're exactly right. You need to run that slogan again, about 10:00. You also had one that told the kids do you know where your parents are? That would be a good idea too."

"Mr. Lamb, I think you hit it right on the head. It's a shame how these children nowadays and these young people are doing Louisville. The police are doing best they can, but it's up to the parents to control their own children."

"Until we hold the parents accountable nothing's going to change. They should charge the parents for whatever the kids do, plus the kids."

"This is getting to the point where it's embarrassing to invite people from out of town. You know, maybe opening juvie hall again might help."

"The embarrassment of some of the young people tarnishes the image of all the good that Louisville has. Something has to be done."
