Lamont Collins, a collector from Louisville and museum’s founder, said he was excited by the “incredible honor” to receive such a recognition, which named the local museum alongside facilities in Washington, D.C.; London and Giza, Egypt.
Taylor's mother, Tamika Palmer, supports moving the memorial to a permanent home, according to the co-chair of the Kentucky Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression.
