The goal is to educate the public about the dangers of boating under the influence, and reduce the number of deaths and injuries on the water.

The district is partnering with Captain's Quarters and other local marinas to launch a free life jacket program for those who may not have access to them or may not be able to afford them.

The summer fun comes with a warning from local rescue crews.
