Mengedoht was killed in the line of duty on Christmas Eve 2018 in a fiery crash on Interstate 64 near the Belvedere. 

The multimillion dollar settlement was reached Saturday in a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the family of a Louisville Metro Police detective who was killed when a Metropolitan Sewer District truck crashed into her police car during a traffic stop.

Roger Burdette is charged with killing Mengedoht on Christmas Eve 2018. 

Det. Deidre Mengedoht was killed on Christmas Eve in 2018 during a traffic stop on Interstate 64 downtown.

All donations and proceeds from the event will be placed into a trust for Det. Mengedoht's son.

Deidre Mengedoht died Dec. 24 when a semi truck crashed into her cruiser during a traffic stop.
