Harrods Creek hillside stabilized after historic rains caused slope failure threatening nearby homeowners.

Access will still be very restricted, limited to businesses on the south side.

Gov. Andy Beshear said there have been around 1,000 rescues due to flooding since storms hit Kentucky. 

Whether it's applauding the star-spangled banner or cheering on the long shot around the final turn, it can be a challenge to get an emergency message to thousands.

It was purchased from the Duke Energy Foundation through Clark County Emergency Management. 

The state's Emergency Operations Center is a hub for the agencies to work together during weather events.

It starts on Monday and runs through Dec. 2.

The hope is to have everything up and running by the start of next year.

The special session will begin at noon Wednesday.

Police believe she could be in extreme danger and may require medical assistance.
