Ford is cutting production at the Kentucky Truck Plant after a fire at one of its major aluminum suppliers.

The company's $5 billion investment promises an affordable electric truck in 2027 along with 4,000 jobs in Kentucky and Michigan. 

Ford made the announcement as it celebrates 75 years of providing vehicles for law enforcement, fire departments and first responders. 

Ford said Monday it is expecting to be missing the necessary parts for as many as 45,000 vehicles.
