The West End Opportunity Partnership will consider spending $2.1 million at a special meeting Wednesday evening to help buy and tear down the building for an affordable housing development led by Goodwill Industries of Kentucky.
The board of the West End Opportunity Partnership voted 9-9 on the proposal at a special meeting that considered the $2.1 million request
The program supports employees who pursue education while working.

Louisville native DeVone Holt had a street named after him Thursday near where he grew up in the Parkland neighborhood.

Goodwill is asking people to drop off unwanted or broken bikes to any of the 67 Kentuckiana Goodwill locations.
The painting was donated to a Goodwill location at 4425 Shelbyville Road in St. Matthews on Feb. 14.
Plans have been filed with the city.
The Goodwill Opportunity Center in the Parkland neighborhood is in the final stages of construction.
