A 56-year-old man was arrested after allegedly shooting a woman in Louisville's Park Hill neighborhood.

The warrant was not connected to animal abuse, but upon arriving at the home, officers found 19 dogs living in "extremely poor conditions."

Elizabethtown Police responded around 2:41 a.m. Saturday to shots fired in the area of East Dixie Avenue between the Town Square and Steel Drive, Officer John Thomas, department spokesperson, said in a statement.
