The socks were delivered to Wayside Christian's Hotel Louisville location at 2nd and Broadway in downtown Louisville on Thursday.
It happened on East College Street at the Interstate 65 overpass Tuesday afternoon.
The resource center is open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Monday and Friday for men and on Wednesdays for women.
The homeless were notified on Wednesday.
Now through Nov. 20, people can donate new, packaged boxers, briefs, panties or sports bras in all sizes for all ages.
The Forgotten Louisville spends every Wednesday handing out necessities, like water, to those without a place to call home.
The site off 9th and Market is set to be cleared Thursday, Nov. 4 at 8 a.m.
The KNOW Homelessness campaign said it started in 2020 to bring attention to the homeless communities in Louisville and southern Indiana.
If you'd like to volunteer or donate, "We the People of New Albany" meets from 3 to 5 p.m. every Sunday at Bicknell Park.
Notices posted around the streets Friday say Metro Public Works will be coming to clear the camps in three weeks.
