Last year, Norton Children’s received 10,600 Valentines and more than 1,700 stuffed animals.

They recommend all Norton Healthcare employees, patients and visitors wear masks, regardless of vaccination status. 

The health care group was presented with the highest level of accreditation with Primary PCI and Resuscitation in June based on the staff's ability to evaluate, diagnose and treat patients who may be experiencing a heart attack.

Norton Healthcare says nearly 99% of its employees are vaccinated.

Cases of the coronavirus-caused illness have declined for two straight weeks, but the city remains at the highest levels of new case rates.

Some people looking to make a doctor's appointment may be waiting a while.

The unit, which averaged approximately 9 patients on a daily basis, closed on Saturday, Baptist Health spokeswoman Julie Garrison confirmed. 

Anyone who is not feeling well is asked not to visit medical facilities.

Officials say the project has increased the hospital's critical care capacity from 26 to 38 beds. 

The facility is designed to help kids and teens manage any long-term symptoms from the virus, the hospital said in a news release Tuesday.
