The department usually has eight ambulances, but it was down to four before Louisville Metro EMS stepped up to help. 

The honorees included Lt. Colonel Mark Fuqua, Major Harry Dozier, Major Dallas Chesser and Captain Josh Foard.

They'll be some of the first people on a scene when someone calls 911.
