A jury of 15 people, including three alternatives, were seated Tuesday, and opening statements will begin Wednesday morning for defendants Brooks Houck and Joseph Lawson.

On Feb. 22, the 48 will be winnowed down to 12 jurors and three alternatives, said Jefferson Circuit Judge Ann Bailey Smith.
The court will try to resume on Thursday, Jan. 3, depending on the weather.
Cincinnati attorney Stew Mathews, who represents Hankison, argued in a motion that allowing the media and public to watch individual questioning of potential jurors would have a “chilling effect on the candor that is expected of the of the prospective jurors.”
Joseph Oberhansley could be sentenced to life in prison without parole, if found guilty of killing his ex-girlfriend in 2014.
The trial is expected to begin June 16th and could last up to two weeks.
