The new campus is expected to be more than 50,000 square feet and will be located on Orchard Avenue off Preston Highway.
The new KHS campus is expected to open sometime in 2027.
Each household is eligible to receive one free bag of cat or dog food from KHS per month.
Louisville Metro councilmembers have pushed for a city ordinance requiring pet owners to microchip their pets, and the Kentucky Humane Society has announced plans for a new campus to expand housing and adoption facilities.
"Louisville is an ideal location for Expo, and the city is as much a partner and part of Expo as our exhibitors and attendees."
The one-day event helped more than 50 pets receive low cost care from the mobile unit.
The local nonprofit is asking for splash pads, hard plastic kiddie pools, sprinklers and soft dog treats.
