LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The Kentucky Humane Society is expanding its pawprint in Louisville.
The nonprofit secured a $1 million grant to help support a planned $37 million Animal and Community Campus on Orchard Avenue. KHS has raised $26 million of the total cost so far, according to our partners at Louisville Business First.

KHS said the grant will help create what it calls Kentucky's largest high-volume spay and neuter clinic.
The center will be able to perform about 13,000 surgeries a year, helping address overcrowding in shelters statewide.
The new KHS campus is expected to open sometime in 2027.
