An area of downtown Louisville is blocked Tuesday afternoon ahead of the evening rush hour due to a water main break.

At least two major roadways were impacted Tuesday, as the Louisville Water Company continued to monitor pressure in its network.

Pictures show the hole is nearly the size of a car.

The water main break happened at the intersection of 7th Street Road and Berry Boulevard. 

Seven households were affected after a 16-inch water main break Sunday morning in south Louisville.

Earlier this month, Louisville Water launched a multi-year project to rehabilitate a 130-year-old water main along Oak and Dumesnil streets.
