The University of Louisville Hospital’s NICU looked more like a mini zoo as the newborns celebrated their first Halloween.
Nurses at the hospital volunteered their day off to dress NICU babies in costumes, giving families a moment of joy during the holiday season.
A new unit at Norton Children's Hospital dedicated to the smallest of patients opened earlier this month.
The babies were dressed up in holiday outfits and posed for the camera. Some sat in little gift boxes while others wore Santa hats.

Part of the Love Served Daily program is the Meals from the Heart program, started by Chef James about a year and a half ago, where he leads a group of volunteers to serve dinner to the families.
The 10-day event kicked off on Sept. 11.
The grieving parents have raised thousands of dollars to donate blankets to families who have experienced stillborn birth, or have a child fighting in the NICU.
His parents say he's survival is the result of prayers and their love.
