The founder of Papa John's International on Wednesday released the full recording of a 2018 conference call in which he uttered a racial slur that ultimately cost him his company.

The Louisville-based company said in a news release that it recently hired 20,000, many of whom were displaced because of COVID-19.

In a letter to the Reverend Dr. Kevin Cosby, the president of Simmons College, Papa John's Chief People Officer Marvin Boakye said he was "pleased we were able to resolve our breakdown in communication."
