No local college football teams will compete Saturday. 

This is the weekend of the super-sized point spreads. Louisville, Kentucky and Indiana are all favored (Cards) or underdogs by 18 or more points.

The WDRB Sports team and Ruby, the trend-setting Labrador retriever, will try to stay on the plus-side of picking seven college football winners.

"I just can’t go out and not come back at my (proper) weight. That would be letting my team down and that’s just not something I’m going to do."

Indiana has done an excellent job of winning the games it was supposed to win while losing the games it was likely to lose. It won’t be easy completing that pattern at Purdue next Saturday, but it will matter.

It has not been a forgiving season for starting quarterbacks on the local college football scene.

In his third season as the Hoosiers’ head coach, Allen has led Indiana to its first 7-2 start since 1993, which was the last season IU won eight games.
