The college football season is nearly a month old, and the University of Louisville is only now getting ready to play its first nonconference game and its first road game.

The way I study a Preakness field and use a process of elimination to find win contenders is more belief and intuition than the strict step-by-step analysis I use for the Kentucky Derby each year. 

There's no Louisville and no Kentucky as the in-state rivals share a bye week, but the predictions roll on.

We are already at Week 4 of the college football season, but Louisville is preparing to play game No. 3, and Georgia Tech, its opponent, is getting ready for game No. 5.
