Two southern Indiana elementary schools will be  merged into one.

 Zoe has Down syndrome and mismatched socks are used as a way to bring awareness that not everyone needs to match to be friends.

Greater Clark County Schools on Sunday reported a positive case of COVID-19 at Thomas Jefferson Elementary, bringing the total number of cases in the southern Indiana district to at least eight.

The individual is at least the seventh confirmed person in the Greater Clark County School district to test positive for the coronavirus since the district reopened on July 29. 

In an email, officials for Greater Clark County Schools said the case is unrelated to the one reported Monday that put an entire kindergarten class in quarantine for two weeks when a staff member tested positive for the virus.  

Police say she never once tried to call the school or police to check on the child.
