Food pantries, like the one at St. Vincent de Paul, have been a lifeline for those who typically rely on federal SNAP benefits.

City leaders are investing more than $1 million in the fight against homelessness, with the goal of keeping more people off the streets and connecting them to long-term support.

Last year, Open Hand Kitchen provided more than 126,000 meals, an average of 345 meals per day.

Men staying overnight will still need to sign in and out every time that they leave but will be able to leave belongings and come and go as they need.
