LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Lunch and dinner service has returned at Open Hand Kitchen in Louisville.

Last year, Open Hand Kitchen provided more than 126,000 meals, an average of 345 meals per day, to people at St. Vincent de Paul and around the community.

But for the past several months, lunch service was paused due to renovations at Ozanam Inn Men's Emergency Shelter.

Open Hand Kitchen serves free lunch and dinner at noon and 5 p.m. every day of the year to anyone who comes in.

Monday, volunteers from Fifth Third Bank served lunch.

"It's easy to write a check, it's easy to give a can of food, but to actually be here and interact with people, it's just an awesome feeling," volunteer Adam Hall said.

Open Hand Kitchen is located at 1026 S. Jackson St. in Louisville's Shelby Park neighborhood.
