A coalition of 17 states and a trade association are suing California to block a strict recycling law aimed at reducing plastic waste. The lawsuit was filed Monday and argues the law's regulations would force a major transformation of consumer products and business models nationwide. It argues the mandates will lead to price hikes on necessities. The law requires producers to both reduce plastic packaging use overall and ensure recyclability of plastic.
