LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- YouthBuild Louisville just graduated a new class of leaders focused on the environment and sustainability.
Fourteen students graduated from the Urban Conservation Corps on Friday. They were on a team of AmeriCorps members dedicated to learning green job skills.
Some of the graduates even got a chance to visit France through the program.
"It opened our eyes to the point to where all of us now, we want to travel, we want to do something different," YouthBuild graduate Todd Horton said. "Some of us have never been on a plane before, some of us had never even left the state of Kentucky."
The group's service projects included clearing invasive species, trail building, tree planting, landscape maintenance and urban agriculture.
