The national social justice group held a 26-hour prayer and fast online to ask for accountability in the shooting death of Taylor.

The Until Freedom protesters compared fences erected along Central Avenue to "cages" that once held slaves and vowed to hold non-violent demonstrations.

The social justice group says it is planning a first-of-its-kind "community convention" Aug. 22 to 25.

The group was joined at the rally by Taylor's sister, Juniyah Palmer, and Michael Brown Sr., the father of Michael Brown, who was killed by police in Ferguson, Missouri, in 2014. 

All 87 suspects are charged with intimidating a participant in a legal process, a felony.
