The West Louisville Dream Team has proposed buying the property home to small businesses and services in Louisville's Parkland neighborhood.
The West Louisville Dream Team Inc. detailed its proposal on Wednesday, calling it a new vision for the embattled property now home to small businesses, a driver’s licensing branch and other services.
The West End Opportunity Partnership will consider spending $2.1 million at a special meeting Wednesday evening to help buy and tear down the building for an affordable housing development led by Goodwill Industries of Kentucky.
Bill Bell is the former executive director of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s Office of Highway Safety.
TARC, which owns the Nia Center on Broadway, said the building is no longer needed and would require extensive repairs.
The plan, announced in September, is to use TARC drivers to drive the JCPS buses.
TARC announced that starting January 26, it will discontinue three routes, including Route 63.
Louisville Metro Police said the robbery at the Walgreens at 3410 West Broadway happened around 9 a.m. on Dec. 4.
TARC said the initiative is part of an ongoing project to provide more accurate, real-time information to riders.
On Wednesday TARC hosted a town hall to explain the changes to riders and receive feedback at its headquarters on West Broadway.
