LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Big changes are coming to TARC.

TARC unveiled new and redesigned bus stop signs Wednesday. The current signs haven't been changed in about 30 years.

The new signs will be bigger, double-sided and include the route number, route name, destination, stop ID and will be color coded for the frequency of that route. Red will be for routes stopping every fifteen minutes and blue will be for routes stopping every 30 minutes.

The full sign changeover is in preparation for the new TARC network coming Aug. 2.

"These new signs have been designed based on community feedback and that something big is the new TARC network," said Ozzy Gibson, TARC Executive Director on Wednesday.

While the new bus stop signs will be replaced over the next few weeks, there will be no changes to bus stops, routes or schedules before Aug. 2.

TARC encourages customers to look around bus stops for flyers about a new stop being added, if the stop will still be served in the new network or if the stop is being removed.
