LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Blowout Saturday. That's the best tagline that I could create for the five college football games that Eric Crawford and I will pick against the spread this weekend.
Both Louisville and Kentucky are favored by three touchdowns or more. And two of the three other games that we picked also feature double-digit point spreads.
After 11 weeks of picking games, we both have winning records without showing a deficit in our imaginary bankrolls. But the last two weeks have not been kind of either of us.
Season Update
- Eric Crawford: 2-3 last week, putting his season record at 31-24. He lost $75, dropping his season bankroll to $1,350, after starting the season with an imaginary $1,000.
- Rick Bozich: 1-4 last week (an ugly 1-9 the last two weeks), knocking his record to 28-27. He also lost $75, putting his bankroll barely over the break-even mark at $1,025.
This Week's Picks
Louisville (-21) at Stanford, Saturday 3:30 p.m.
- Crawford: $25 on Louisville. Don't feel great about this but the Cards have been pretty good on the road and are playing their best football.
- Bozich: $50 on Louisville. The Cardinal have already lost five games by 21 or more. Make it six. Stanford has nothing to play for. Louisville playing for a 9-3 finish and an improved spot in the College Football Playoff rankings.
Murray State (+37.5) at Kentucky, Saturday, 1:30 p.m.
- Crawford: $25 on Kentucky. If ever a team had an excuse to run it up, it's the Wildcats looking to end a 4-game losing streak.
- Bozich: $25 on Kentucky. I was going to take Murray because Kentucky has scored more than 37 once all season. Then I noticed the Racers are 1-9 and have allowed 50 or more points four times. If Kentucky doesn't win this one big …
Clemson (-10) at Pittsburgh, Saturday, Noon.
- Crawford: $25 on Pittsburgh. Clemson was impressive a week ago at Virginia Tech but the Panthers have been a bit better team than the Hokies. I might be tempted to think they'll have the inevitable letdown after a loss, but at home, I think they'll play better.
- Bozich: $25 on Clemson. The Tigers are still playing for a spot in the Atlantic Coast Conference title game and Pitt has lost two straight, including a home game to Virginia.
Georgia (-10.5) at Tennessee, Saturday, 7:30 p.m.
- Crawford: $25 on Georgia. I think Georgia will win this matchup of teams that I haven't been all that impressed with. I'm not convinced the Bulldogs will cover. I'll go with the Bulldogs at home. They need to impress the committee more.
- Bozich: $25 on Georgia. The Bulldogs threw in a stinker at Ole Miss last week. They can't afford another loss if they intend to make the playoffs. Tennessee might be without quarterback Nico Iamaleava.
LSU (-4) at Florida, Saturday, 3:30 p.m.
- Crawford: $25 on Florida. LSU has lost two straight and isn't all that good to begin with. Florida gets the Tigers at home.
- Bozich: $25 on LSU. The Gators are another team with uncertainty at quarterback. Plus they have already played five ranked opponents. They've lost all five games by 6 points or more. Could be an ugly scene considering Florida announced that coach Billy Napier will return next season.
