LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Kentucky Derby-winning trainer Cherie DeVaux was named to Time Magazine's "100 Most Influential People in Sports."

The honor comes after Golden Tempo won the 152nd Kentucky Derby and 158th Belmont Stakes.

"What is my life," DeVaux posted on X Tuesday.

DeVaux became the first woman to train a Kentucky Derby winner when Golden Tempo, the 23-to-1 long shot, crossed the finish line first on May 2 in front of a crowd of more than 150,000.

"It's almost guaranteed to make you smile, if not tear up," Time senior correspondent Sean Gregory wrote of the viral video showing DeVaux jump up and down with excitement as Golden Tempo charged from the back of the pack down the stretch to win the Run for the Roses.
