LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A special retirement ceremony will honor reigning Horse of the Year and 2024 Kentucky Oaks winner Thorpedo Anna.
The ceremony will take place during Race 6 on Sunday, which is opening day of the 26-day Fall Meet at Churchill Downs.
Trainer Kenny McPeek recently announced Thorpedo Anna’s retirement from racing. She will now begin her second career as a broodmare at a farm in Lexington.
Thorpedo Anna retires with more than $5.4 million in earnings and 10 graded stakes victories. She is owned by Hill ‘n’ Dale Farms, Judy Hicks, Mark Edwards and Magdalena Racing.
A 20% share in Thorpedo Anna will be offered for sale Oct. 29 at the Keeneland Championship Sale in Del Mar, California.
