LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — March Madness is set to return to Louisville.
The KFC Yum! Center and the University of Louisville will co-host the 2027 Men's NCAA Tournament first and second rounds.
The KFC Yum! Center has hosted the men's tournament first and second rounds before, in 2012 and 2015, and the South Regional in 2016, 2019 and 2023.
The NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament first and second rounds were also played in Louisville in 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022.
The NCAA Women's Volleyball Tournament is also set to return to the KFC Yum! Center this December.
“We are excited to once again host the NCAA Men’s Basketball First and Second Rounds,” said KFC Yum! Center General Manager Eric Granger in a news release. “This event not only enhances our venue's reputation as a premier sports destination but also brings significant economic benefits to our community. We look forward to celebrating the spirit of college basketball in Louisville.”
If UofL made the NCAA Tournament in 2027, they wouldn't be able to play their first round games at home.
