LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- University of Louisville running back Jawhar Jordan has declared for the NFL Draft and is not expected to participate in the Holiday Bowl.
Jordan rushed for 1,128 yards and 13 touchdowns and caught 21 passes for 246 yards and a touchdown for the Cardinals this past season, battling a hamstring injury for much of the second half of the season. He was voted first-team All-ACC by The Associated Press.
"First and foremost, I want to thank God for giving me a life changing opportunity to further my academic and athletic career," Jordan said in a graphic posted to his social media accounts. "It has been a long journey but nonetheless a blessing. Secondly, I want to thank my family and friends for their unconditional love and being there for me every step of this journey. To my teammates, I will never forget the memories made on and off the field, I will cherish them forever."

Jordan ranked second in the ACC in total rushing yards. He amassed more than 2,500 all-purpose yards during his career. He also became the 23rd back in Louisville history to top the 1,000-yard mark in a season.

Louisville will face USC in the Holiday Bowl on Dec. 28 at 8 p.m., televised by WDRB.
