LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The City of Scottsburg honored two championship basketball teams Saturday.
A ribbon cutting was held for a new basketball court at Beechwood Park in Scottsburg, Indiana. The court honors two state championship teams: the 1989 Warriorettes and 2024 Warrior teams.
"It's just a celebration of basketball right here where it began and where it begins for our children, our grandchildren to come up and carry on this legacy," Mayor Terry Amick said.
In 2024, Scottsburg took down South Bend's Saint Joseph 67-57 for the Class 3A title.
