BROWNSTOWN, In. (WDRB) — It's going to be rockin' during the Jackson County Watermelon Festival.

WDRB's Keith Kaiser traveled to Brownstown, Indiana for Rock the Rind.

It's watermelon season in Jackson County, Indiana and they want to celebrate. The juicy watermelons grown in the sandy fields of Jackson County are worth the trip.

During the festivities, grab some grub from one of the many vendors lining Sugar Street and pair it with a watermelon shakeup or cold beverage. Some of the activities include a pickleball tournament, Watermelon 5K Run & Walk, and the seed spitting contest. Plus, the infamous Jackson County Watermelon Steal makes its return in 2025.

The rules are simple - retrieve a soapy watermelon from a giant pile of straw and get back to the finish line before everyone else.

The "Rock the Rind" music event has attracted some of the hottest artists in the country. The intimate, unique and unforgettable setting has a capacity for 4,000 fans and it has been called one of the cleanest & most hospitable festivals in the region.

Featured headliners include Tracy Byrd, Justin Moore, and Stephen Wilson Jr.
