LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Taste of the Highlands is bringing together great restaurants for a great cause.

WDRB's Keith Kaiser gets a taste of this event to benefit Highlands Community Ministries.

The 8th annual “A Taste of The Highlands, Mardi Gras!” on Fat Tuesday, Feb. 17 from 5:30-7:30 p.m., happens at Highlands Community Ministries Campus.

The fun and festive event supports Highlands Community Ministries (HCM) which helps neighbors in need of food, emergency financial help, and quality-of-life programs.

It’s one of HCM’s biggest fundraisers of the year.

The festive celebration features food from more than a dozen restaurants along Bardstown Road corridor and beyond, plus local and regional spirits and beverages.

There will be live bourbon jazz from Billy Goat Strut Revue, with Nolia Noonas the opener, and there will be a dance floor to enjoy all the New Orleans-style music.

Participating restaurants include Bristol Bar & Grille, Hurry for Curry, Jack Fry's, Kizito Cookies, Morris Deli, Murray's Creole Pub, Noche Mexican BBQ, Palermo's Italian Restaurant, True North Catering, Uptown Cafe, Wiltshire Bakery & Cafe, Yi Sushi Omakase and more.

An all-inclusive ticket is $60 per person and will include food from all the participating restaurants plus beverages. For an additional $15, you can participate in a separate distillery style tasting with a Limestone Branch ambassador.

Guests must be at least 21 years of age and are asked to drink responsibly.
