LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Having a DQ Blizzard on Thursday, July 30, 2015 helps children in our area.

During Miracle Treat Day, $1 or more from every Blizzard® Treat sold at participating locations will be donated locally  to Kosair Children's Hospital.  Last year, they raised $22,000 in Louisville. They hope to raise even more this year!

The annual event raises money and awareness for 170 children's hospitals across the U.S. and Canada. All funds stay in local communities.

Donations to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals support research and training, purchase equipment, and pay for uncompensated care, all in support of its mission to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.

DQ is featuring Oreo as the Miracle Treat Day Blizzard of the Day. Our Blizzard of the Month is the ROLO Minis Blizzard Treat, made with smooth caramel and blended with creamy vanilla soft serve. All other Blizzard flavors will also be available that day.

Last year, participating Dairy Queen locations raised nearly $5 million on Miracle Treat Day.

This Miracle Treat Day also comes during a special year for the Dairy Queen system, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary.
