Football fans love good food. And Kentucky loves bourbon, so bringing the two together is a natural. Gary Gruver from Southern Wine & Spirits is mixing up a few cocktails with Four Roses Bourbon and a "crocktail" perfect for cool football weather. And Chef Tyler Powell from The Silver Dollar on Frankfort Avenue shows how to make a classic Old Fashioned along with glazed chicken wings and a bourbon smoked cheddar spread.
The Silver Dollar's "Old Fashioned" Wings
2.5 lbs. chicken wings
4 tablespoons Dijon mustard
2 cups Four Roses Bourbon
10 dashes (or two tablespoons) Angostura Bitters
3/4 cup granulated sugar
Combine Dijon, bourbon, Angostura, sugar. Pour over wings. Let marinate 3 hours or overnight. Remove wings, save marinade. Bake wings at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. While baking reduce marinade over high heat by half. Toss to coat. Serve with plenty of napkins!
