LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Kroger is highlighting its commitment to Kentucky farmers and locally made products by showcasing Cattleman's Beef as part of its Kentucky Proud offerings.
Kroger says it is proud to be the largest retailer of local and Kentucky Proud products in the Commonwealth, making it easier for customers to support Kentucky farmers, food producers and small businesses with every shopping trip.
The company says its partnership with Kentucky Proud producers helps connect shoppers with locally sourced products while supporting the state's agricultural economy.
Cattleman's Beef is one of the many Kentucky Proud products available at Kroger stores across the state, giving customers another option to buy local while stocking their kitchens.

Honey Ricotta Summer Berry Crostini
Ingredients:
- 1 baguette, sliced into 16 pieces
- 2 tbsp. olive oil
- 1 cup Simple Truth Organic Ricotta
- 1 tbsp. Simple Truth Organic Honey
- 1 cup blackberries
- 1 cup blueberries
- 1 Fresh basil leaves, thinly sliced
- 1 piece lemon, zested
- 1 Pinch of flaky sea salt for garnish
Directions:
- Heat a grill pan or grill over medium-high heat. Brush each slice of bread on both sides with olive oil. Place on hot grill for 1-2 minutes per side, until you achieve light char marks. Remove to a serving platter.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the ricotta and the honey. Season lightly with salt.
- Smooth a heaping tablespoon of ricotta on top of each crostini. Top with berries, then drizzle with balsamic glaze. Garnish with the basil and a sprinkling of additional salt. Serve immediately.
