LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Alyssa and Wayne Brewer are a husband and wife country duo, and recently released their debut album dedicated to country legends George Jones and Tammy Wynette.

The country duo visited WDRB Mornings on Friday to talk about their tribute album.

The duo is from Louisville, Kentucky, and covers well known classics like "Golden Ring" and "We're Gonna Hold On," as well as a lesser known song like "Rosie Bokay."

Wayne began his musician work with Gary Brewer & The Kentucky Ramblers, and even played on the Grand Ole Opry stage at just 18 months old.

Alyssa & Wayne Brewer

As a brand new venture, the celebrity breakout duo of Alyssa & Wayne Brewer have taken the country music scene by storm.

The couple married in 2015, and said recording a duet album was always a dream of theirs, but they could never find the time to do it.

The couple was given the chance to record, just one month after having their first child together, and recorded a classic favorite of theirs, "If I Needed You" by Townes Van Zandt, and their career soon took off after.

In less than six months, the breakout duo has taken the country music scene by storm and found themselves with raving reviews, high streaming numbers, and future placements.

“Our goal with this was to bring George and Tammy’s legacy to the new generation,” Wayne shared in an interview on Friday. “Just like bell bottoms and vinyl albums, everything comes back into style."

They have been covered by People Magazine, and were included on the Best of the Year 2023 playlist on Spotify.

The duo will soon be announcing their first ever headlining tour in 2024, kicking off in Los Angeles.

Their closest show to Louisville will be in Benton, KY in August.
