LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Keith Kaiser gets into the Olympic Spirit by learning about the sport of Rhythmic Gymnastics.

Rhythmic gymnastics is a sport in which individuals or groups of 5 or more manipulate one or two pieces of apparatus: rope, hoop, ball, clubs, ribbon and freehand (no apparatus).

It combines elements of ballet, gymnastics, dance, and apparatus manipulation.

The winner is determined by a panel of judges, for leaps, balances, pirouettes (pivots), apparatus handling, and execution.

The women-only discipline made its Olympic debut more than 30 years ago, at the Los Angeles 1984 Games.

Keith found a coach at Champion Gymnastics with a rich history with the sport.
