LOUISVILLE, Ky (WDRB) -- The first ever Kentucky Dance Festival features groups from around the country.

WDRB's Keith Kaiser gets a preview of the only professional contemporary dance festival in the state.

This March 13 through the 15th, Ambo Dance Theatre presents the first and only professional contemporary dance festival in the state.

This three-day festival features professional works in diverse dance styles.

The Kentucky Dance Festival Professional Concerts will showcase works from 23 companies and individual artists from across the country.

14 dance groups are based in Kentucky.

This includes a special pre show discussion and performance by Sofia Ritchie, the 2025 recipient of the Simpson-Brandt Memorial Scholarship.

In addition, the Student Concert will feature 18 works, all created specifically by student choreographers ranging from the elementary level up to adult students.

Finally, learn about diverse educational opportunities in dance during the 5 different master classes.

Audiences of all ages are invited to enjoy the weekend.

Tickets are $30, with Pay-What-You-Can options to make accessible to all.
